The Provenance Catalogue

Terms

Effective

PaintedApp, LLC runs The Provenance Catalogue. Using the site, its feeds or its agent door means accepting these terms. Questions go to support@painted.app.

What this is

A reference. It lists 1,406 pieces that 21 print houses publish about themselves, and the sizes and prices those houses declare. It sells nothing, holds no stock and takes no payment.

Prices and sizes

Every price is copied, unchanged, from the house's offers file, and the date and checksum of that file are printed beside it. The house's own page sets the price when you buy and may have changed it since. Where the two differ, the house's page is right. A piece marked not offered online yet may still be available from the house another way; ask the house.

Buying

Buying happens on the house's site, under the house's terms, which govern the order, the print, delivery and returns. Nothing on this site is an offer of sale or forms a contract of sale.

Pictures and records

Titles, creators, dates and rights records are shown as the houses publish them. A rights label is the house's own record, not legal advice from us. Pictures are shown from the houses' hosts and from Wikimedia Commons, and each piece page names its source; reusing a picture is governed by its source, not by these terms.

Feeds and the agent door

The agent feed, the search index, each house's offers file, llms.txt and the MCP endpoint are free to read, by people and by software. Keep to the rate limit of 60 calls a minute from one address; calls beyond it are refused with HTTP 429. When you restate a price, say which file it came from: every answer carries that file in declaredIn. Do not present this catalogue as the seller of anything.

No warranty

We read the houses' files with care, and every build tests that each price here matches its file. Even so, the catalogue is provided as is: we do not promise it is complete, current or free of error, and to the extent the law allows we are not liable for losses from relying on it.

Changes

We may change these terms. The date at the top says when they last changed.
